Theatres keep audiences safe every day of every year, so we are quite ready, willing and able to add a few more precautions to keep everybody in a good place to enjoy some Christmas panto silliness.

There are lots of ways the cast and crew are doing things differently, but here are a few safety measures we have added to keep you safe "front of house":

The theatre has added a one-way system for entrance and exit for each show.  There is plenty of time between performances for one audience to leave before the next one arrives.

The auditorium is fully cleaned between performances.

All bookings are in bubbles with plenty of space between groups- the capacity of the theatre is just under half the usual number of people.

The show runs as one act with no interval (lasting 1 hour 20 minutes), so there is no mixing of crowds halfway through the show.

Audience members are asked to wear masks- as a result you can still clap and cheer and boo, but there is no sing-along this year.

We can't invite children up onto the stage this year.

There is no bar service, but refreshments can be pre-ordered to be ready and waiting for you.

We hope that these measures will mean you can enjoy panto with confidence- if ever there was a time when a bit of joy and silliness was needed, it's 2021!

And finally, if a show has to be cancelled, there will be full refunds from the Exeter City Council-run box office.
