"a wonderful afternoon to remember"
Montgomery School - December 2015
Following the record-breaking success of 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs', starring Sandra Dickinson and ‘Dick Whittington’ starring Peter Duncan, 'Sleeping Beauty' and 'Beauty & the Beast', KICKLINE and Exeter Corn Exchange present the most loved traditional pantomime tale: ‘CINDERELLA', packed full of adventure, songs and laughter!
GREAT SCHOOL RATES ARE AVAILABLE!
Join our Dream Cast!
This year, we have again invited children from local schools to be part of the youth chorus, to gain experience performing alongside top professional actors. Casting is well underway for our principal actors- previous years' ensembles have included former West End stars of 'Sunset Boulevard', 'Priscilla Queen of the Desert', 'Billy Elliot', '42nd Street', 'Guys & Dolls' and 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' and even Olivier Award winners, so it is a fantastic opportunity for students who are keen on a career in the performing arts to learn from the best!
The junior company will rehearse at Stage by Stage in the centre of Exeter from September. We have just held auditions and great fun was had by all, we hope.
The Express & Echo described our 'Jack & the Beanstalk' as PANTOMIME PERFECTION; hopefully Exeter's young people could help make 'Cinderella' another dream of a show!
APPLICATIONS FOR AUDITIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE IN APRIL 2017

WHY NOT JOIN
US FOR A PRE-SHOW TALK?
We can arrange a pre-show talk with cast and director, prior to our morning matinees. We can also visit your school for a free fun-packed practical workshop on the history and skills of pantomime!
This production of ‘CINDERELLA’ is supported by a range of 60 minute workshops which are suitable for Key Stages 2, 3, 4 and 5.
1) “It’s Behind You”- Telling a Tale
In this workshop students have the chance to discover how story is built. Students will learn ways to bring a character to life and to create dynamic characterisations.
This workshop can be pitched for KS 2 and 3.
2) “Oh No It Isn’t”- Slapstick Fun
This practical workshop introduces students to physical comedy. In a safe environment, students explore slapstick, comedy combat and a little bit of mess. Students will need to wear an overall, or clothing which might get some “custard pie” splash. A personal towel is also a good idea.
This workshop is best suited to KS 3 and 4.
3) “Sing-along!”- The Panto Tradition
This workshop gives students an opportunity to understand generic traits of pantomime, and the links from origins in Commedia dell’ Arte.
This workshop is best suited to KS 4 and 5.
Kickline Theatre’s Education Department is able to adapt material to fit your requirements. Working with up to 30 students in your own school or college, each workshop will be led by two visiting artists: a DBS-checked professional teacher and a member of the ‘Aladdin’ company (subject to the performance schedule).
